Description

The Association for Educational Activity wanted to raise online awareness about parenthood, increase the exchange of information on the issue, motivate people to consider what it means to be a parent and to talk publicly about the challenges involved.

The solution

In spring 2006 and in co-operation with artists invited by the AEA, Valve designed a virtual art installation targeted at Finnish adults, particularly those with families and who don't actively follow arts and culture. Graphic elements include icons and characters symbolizing fatherhood, like Kekkonen, axes, and baby strollers.In spring 2006 and in co-operation with artists invited by the AEA, Valve designed a virtual art installation targeted at Finnish adults, particularly those with families and who don't actively follow arts and culture. Graphic elements include icons and characters symbolizing fatherhood, like Kekkonen, axes, and baby strollers. The site features five themed multimedia presentations, as well as articles on fatherhood and winning essays from a writing contest. Visitors can also participate in a playful poll.
