The need

At Mobile World Congress 2025, Nokia set out to break away from conventional screen-based demos. They needed a tangible, photogenic, and interactive experience that could engage multiple visitor groups at once — while simplifying complex concepts around their AI-ready network solutions.

The challenge was two-fold:

  • Translate technical sophistication into a memorable physical experience

  • Showcase Nokia’s leadership in AI-powered operations and digital twin technologies — in a way that was accessible, engaging, and visually striking

The solution

Valve designed and built a two-sided interactive table featuring:

  • Detailed 3D-printed environments aligned with Nokia’s brand

  • Dynamic LED lighting systems to illustrate live network activity and traffic

  • Triggerable "game objects" that launched scenarios when placed on the table

  • Tablet + TV screen integration, fully synced with the 3D environment

  • Six narrative-driven demos, from data center operations to network security

Visitors could interact with physical objects or use tablets to explore different use cases, with visual feedback delivered through synchronised lighting, animations, and displays. The result was an immersive, hands-on experience that spoke to both technical experts and curious passersby.

Every detail – from the model design to the lighting system and interface – was 100% produced in-house by Valve

The results

Customer testimonials praised it as a “masterpiece” that simplified complex technology concepts. One Nokia team member noted: “The team came up with a very creative solution involving LED tube lighting and 3D printing. It was both eye-catching and effective, making it easy for us to tell our story.”

The installation became a natural conversation piece even without active interaction. Engineering-minded attendees were drawn to the printed models’ details, while the flawless LED integration elevated the visual impact. The hidden “party mode” with synchronised RGB lighting and music became an unexpected crowd-pleaser, further distinguishing Nokia’s presence at the event.
